The Red Bohemian
Red is such a radiant color to me. With a touch of black, like my gladiator sandals, I think it looks extremely beautiful. They're so classic and gives an air of refinement to the quirky, bohemian style.

Bashing Boho Myths
There are a lot of myths circulating bohemian fashion. This post will bash most of the preconceptions you have about this unique style.
Myths:
Myths:
- Myth- Bohemians Only Wear Earthy Tones:
- Myth-Bohemians Only Wear Flowing, Draping or Loose-Fitting Clothes:
- The Truth: No matter what style you have, in a well-balanced closet you need structured or fitted clothes such as a blazer or even a simple tee-shirt. Too many flowing, draping or loose-fitting clothes create a sloppy look EVERYONE should avoid.
- Myth- Bohemians Layer A Lot of Clothes at the Same Time:
- The Truth: Layering clothes does not make an outfit boho. Focus more on prints and accessories.
- Myth- Bohemians Love Greasy and Unkempt hair:
- The Truth: Again, no style really promotes messiness! Everyone should take care of themselves! This includes hair!
- Myth- Being Bohemian Means Always Wearing Maxi Skirts and Maxi Dresses:
- The Truth: You can be Bohemian in jeans, shorts or any other bottom or top. Just remember to add a shirt with a boho print or chunky jewelry.

Minamilist Bohemian
Only about a day ago, I read up about the minimalist style. As I've shared before, I adore the bohemian style but my style also represents some minimalist elements too! I find the minimalist style both timeless and chic. I've been trying to combine it with my love with the bohemian style better. Below are a couple of outfits I made in attempt to combine both styles. Which is your favorite?

Classy Gypsy Girl
It's Friday and it was supposed to be an easy day so I thought it best to wear my skirt out. I absolutely adore these skirts! It adds the perfect level of boho/gypsy flare. The beanie and necklace were great additions too! It was a very bohemian combo! Yet, I was happy because I feel like my fitted black sweater added class to my outfit.

My Bohemian Closet
Why I Love the Bohemian Style:
It's sort of hard to sum up exactly why I love the style but I'll give it a go! Being bohemian also means being free-spirited and even artsy. I've always been a fan of going with the flow and just living life. I'm also a practicing artist so I feel the style really complements me. I also love the feel of the style. I feel free in these clothes. I also feel very girlish and feminine, a feeling that's very satisfying for me.
My Bohemian Closet:
Here's what I wear to show off my style-
- ethnic print palazzo pants
- ethnic print maxi skirt
- ethnic print jersey skirt
- ethnic print sweater
- tye-dye maxi skirt
- draping, lace-back cardigan
- long, plain maxi
- moccasin boots
- long, blue scarf (usually worn as a headscarf)
- gypsy skirt
- Aztec print cardigan
- fringe, cross-body leather bag
- plain maxi dress
(These aren't all of my bohemian items. Just the ones I usually wear when making a statement)

Parallels between Romanticism and Bohemianism
Romanticism and Bohemianism are considered two different styles and they are. While Bohemianism is more about freedom and is more artsy, Romanticism is more whimsical and girly. However, I've seen parallels between the two styles. It's hard not to!

- Gypsy Skirts:
- Now that the weather is warming up, try a gypsy skirt. They're as boho as maxi skirts and perfect for this time of year! A bonus will be if you find a couple with lace trims. (Lace is considered to be bohemian as well as romantic).
- Draping Lightweight Cardigan:
- Draping clothes are essential for a bohemian wardrobe. That makes this cardigan terrific for any bohemian girl that doesn't want to be chilly in this season.
- Lightweight Maxi Dresses:
- Maxi dresses, a lot like maxi skirts are also one of the essentials. A lightweight one is absolutely perfect for spring as I've expressed in one of my last posts.
- Lightweight Fringe Scarves:
- Fringe is an element used a lot in bohemian clothes. This makes the fringe scarf a big part of the Boho Family.
- Lightweight Palazzo Pants:
- The bohemian style usually consists of flowing articles of clothing and draping pieces. This is why a pair of lightweight palazzo pants are absolutely perfect for a bohemian girl in the spring.
- Lightweight Cardigans in Floral Prints:
- Anything in floral prints are automatically bohemian. For spring, remember it still can be a bit chilly. Wearing a lightweight floral-print cardigan is absolutely perfect for this kind of weather.

More on Maxi Skirts
![]() |
Maxi Skirts
What's so great about Maxi Skirts?- In my opinion, they're one of the most comfortable skirts around. Unlike many clothing items today, they're not constricting. Instead, they flow about you gracefully
Types of Maxis: Maxi skirts can have different prints and embellishments. You can easily find one that fits your preference. Many are decorated with lace, ethnic prints, tie-dye (such as the one to the left), etc.
Other Benefits to Maxi Skirts: Maxi skirts can be extremely versatile. When it's hot, pair them with flip-flops, wedges, etc and a comfy tee. In colder times, you'll have fun layering it. You'll be perfectly snug in a pair of leggings, a pair of matching boots, long sleeve, a pullover-sweater or cardigan. Of course, you can also add accessories to an outfit that includes a maxi skirt. You can wear both thick and thin scarves, jewelry, hats, etc
Bohemian Style: Maxi skirts and maxi dresses are also preferable by bohemians.
(REMEMBER, in the winter if you live in climates that go into single digits make sure that the leggings and skirt you wear are very thick and warm).

So Boho
Why I Like the Bohemian Look:
Being bohemian is a simple way to feel freer and more unique. It's comfortable and can be feminine all at the same time. And I love how easily I can add a couple of accessories to any outfit and give it a bohemian flare or go completely bohemian by choosing a couple boho clothing items. I also like the way it works with my sweet style, adding a little flavor. According to thechicfashionista.com and my own personal experience, here are several helpful list.
Here are some examples of shoes and accessories you can add to any ordinary or plain outfit
How to Keep the Bohemian Look Alive:
Many people think the bohemian style had died out. Turns out, people like me are keeping it alive. As you can see above, it doesn't take much to make an outfit more boho-chic. And I should tell you that it's a style anyone and everyone can find something appealing in.

Here's a Plain Outfit Same Outfit With Boho Accessories

The pic to the right uses the same outfit as the pic to the left. It just adds a couple of bohemian accessories. The accessories used are: a fringe purse, fringe scarf, and a boho multi-chained necklace.
Adding accessories is a not only a simple way to make an outfit more bohemian, but it also adds flare to an outfit that is otherwise pretty boring.
